New comment interface for Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides rolling out to more devices

For comments and action items in the Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides applications for iOS, we're upgrading the user experience. Those upgrades include:

  • Larger, simpler gui in order to make it easy to see comments and their context in a document.

  • Shortcuts and motions that help you swipe through several comments easily and respond to them.

  • Fast Access Button to respond, "@" mention someone and delegate things for action.

The Docs, Papers, and Slides Android applications were previously made available for these updates; they are now rolling out to the Drive Android app and the iOS apps for Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

In the future, they will be made available on the Drive iOS platform. For more information on the rollout, see below.

  • Admins: There is no admin control for this feature.

  • End users: This functionality will be available automatically. When using the Docs, Sheets, or Slides application on an iOS device, tap on a comment to get started.
